I am a certified welder and will be graduating this December from a local community college with an A.S. in Welding Technology. I am attracted to using metal in my sculptures because it is a strong material and creates the backbone to building large scale public art. I enjoy exploring new methods of using metal and applying new techniques to my creative process.

Welding Projects

"Roy the Dog" The John Natsoulas Gallery

This project was commissioned by the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, CA. It was a collaborative project involving many different artists. The final piece is called "Roy the Dog," and is a large public sculpture of a dog made of colored pieces of plastics and tin. I built the metal pyramid frame work that provides structure and support. The exterior of the pyramid is covered in expanded metal to which artists attached the colored plastic.
